Admissions Process
Our approach to admissions is entirely holistic – we want to find out more about you and your motivations to become a global leader. Through our dedicated admissions team, we can advise you on the next steps to successfully pursuing an Executive MBA from start to completion.
During this private, one-to-one call, we will answer your questions, discuss your work experience and career path so far as well as your motivation to pursue an Executive MBA. We will find out how the program can meet your personal or professional goals and expectations. If you send us your CV or share your LinkedIn profile prior to our call, we are able to determine your eligibility and advise you on the next steps.
After we have personally discussed your eligibility for the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA Program, qualified candidates will be invited to submit their full application via the Online Application Center. Please complete and submit the following:
- Most recent CV
- Two Letters of Recommendation from peers and/or supervisors who know you well — preferably one from your current organization and one from a customer, supplier or previous employer. Recommenders should submit their letters via email directly to our EMBA office via Mail: emba(at)whu.edu
-> Template for Letter of Recommendation (download PDF) - Copies of degree certificates and transcripts from all universities you attended. The admission of applicants without a degree from a recognized university or approved institution underlies special admission requirements. Candidates who do not hold a first higher education degree will be asked to conduct an Executive Assessment or GMAT in addition to the general admissions process.
- Proof of proficiency in English (TOEFL, IELTS) if applicable
- The €200 application fee, payable prior to the interviews
All documents should be in English or translated into English. Copies of university transcripts and diplomas are also accepted in German.
Upon review of your application, we will schedule two admissions interviews with you. The first interview will be conducted by one of our alumni and will last approximately 90 minutes. The second interview is scheduled for around 60 minutes with a Kellogg-WHU representative, e.g. senior admissions staff or faculty. During both interviews we will especially look at your career path, managerial related work experience and current role and responsibilities.
Within two weeks after conducting the admissions interviews, our Admissions Board will inform you via email about their decision. The committee takes a holistic look at each candidate, evaluating experience and expertise, academic success, management and leadership achievements as well as potential.
If you’ve been admitted to our program, we strongly suggest informing us regarding your intentions to accept this offer as soon as possible, at the latest prior to the next admissions round.
Upon your acceptance and receipt of all required application documents, we will send out your Kellogg-WHU EMBA study contract. As soon as we receive a signed copy we can start your enrollment process. Our Program Managers who will be your first point of contact throughout your studies will contact you and guide you through the preparations for your first module.
