WHU Students Organize Food Drive for Koblenzer Tafel

WHU master’s students donate over 20 bags filled to the brim with groceries

At the start of the new year, quite a few students at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management may come home to an empty refrigerator. But it’s for a good reason: Certain members of the WHU Master’s Class of 2026 have called upon them to donate any good food remaining in their cupboards (or to donate new items) before they leave Vallendar for the holiday break.

Shortly before Christmas, social services provider Koblenzer Tafel picked up more than 20 bags filled with groceries from the school’s campus. “According to the Tafel, we collected more than they had anticipated,” said student Martin Bender noting his delight at the turnout. “It was absolutely worth the effort.” He and classmate Ferdinand Alexander Schütz acted as primary organizers behind the food drive, spending countless hours in the foyer of the H building collecting donations. Food stuffs eligible for donation included non-expired, packaged products that required no refrigeration.

This marks the sixth time that WHU has collected donations for Tafel locations. Such efforts were previously organized by student-led club SensAbility.
