With his election to the coordination team, Professor Arne Strauss assumes a leading role in a key European research network.
Professor Arne Strauss (Mercator Endowed Chair of Demand Management & Sustainable Transport, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management) has been elected as one of the coordinators of the EURO Working Group (EWG) “Pricing & Revenue Management”. He will share the coordination role with Professor Benny Mantin (University of Luxembourg) and Professor Christiane Barz (University of Zurich).
In their roles, the three professors will strategically develop and expand the Working Group’s activities over the coming years. Planned initiatives include European specialist workshops and conference formats, a targeted exchange between academia and practice, and—looking ahead—a summer school for doctoral candidates to support early-career researchers in the field of pricing and revenue management.
The EURO Working Group “Pricing & Revenue Management” connects researchers who develop and apply operations research methods for pricing and revenue optimisation. Its aim is to increase the visibility of current research, initiate collaborations, and advance the development of data-driven pricing and revenue-management approaches.
EURO (The Association of European Operational Research Societies) is the umbrella organisation for Europe’s operations research societies and aims to promote and further develop operations research in Europe. Founded in 1975, EURO supports the scientific community through, among other things, conferences, publications, and subject-specific working groups. EURO Working Groups form specialist communities around specific OR topics and provide organisational structures and support to advance research and exchange in their respective areas.
Through this election to the coordination team, WHU is strengthening its visibility within a key European specialist network and further enhancing its role in international research on pricing, revenue management, and data-driven decision support.
