For six years running, WHU remains #1 in Germany in the renowned Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking
WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management has once again placed #1 in Germany in the renowned Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking. “We are particularly delighted that we have now placed first in Germany for six years running,” noted Professor Christian Andres, Dean of WHU. The school’s Master in Finance Program (MiF) is one of 70 programs worldwide analyzed for this year’s ranking; WHU has placed #29 across all schools.
WHU’s MiF achieved excellent results in several categories, and the alumni of the MiF have awarded the program with an exceptional 9.38 out of a possible 10 points. In fact, overall student satisfaction with the program has increased since last year.
Looking at the categories in detail, “alumni network” (#3) stands out, with the program jumping ahead seven positions over the previous year. The program also ranked #6 in “international course experience,” which considers participants’ opportunities to study or assume internships abroad. The school also reached a high position in the “career services” (#8) category. Together, the school’s Career Center and the In Praxi Alumni Association have contributed significantly to the success that the school’s students and graduates have experienced in their professional lives.
That the program has performed so well in the “carbon emissions” category (#7) is also of particular note. This category sees the school’s carbon footprint evaluated according to its net-zero targets. For comparison, two years ago, WHU ranked at only #45 in this category. “These new results show us that we, thanks to our comprehensive and strong focus on sustainability, as well as the concrete measures we have taken, stand among the schools most advanced in this area,” said Dean Andres. WHU advocates sustainability beyond the scope of its own carbon footprint; it has made the topic a core focus area in its teaching, research, and other activities in order to make long-term changes at every level.
The Financial Times regularly publishes several of the world’s most important university rankings, which today’s prospective students use as a compass to find the academic program that is right for them. The excellent schools included in this ranking are located all over the world.
