WHU First Responder Plans Blood Drive for European 112 Day

Blood drive open to all residents to be held in WHU’s C building from 14:00 – 18:00

The WHU First Responder team, together with the German Red Cross, is organizing another blood drive, planned for Tuesday, February 11, also known as European 112 Day. Residents can donate blood at the C-building of the school’s Vallendar campus on the Burgplatz between the hours of 14:00 and 18:00 (2 P.M. to 6 P.M.). All participants must be at least 18 years of age, weigh at least 50 kgs (110 lbs), and not suffer from any serious illness or health conditions.

Participants will be given a questionnaire to fill out upon arrival and then vetted by a team of experienced medical personnel to determine their eligibility. Those eligible will donate 500 ml (roughly 17 oz.) of their blood and then recuperate in the resting area.

Those who wish to participate can register here (in German). Early registration, though not necessary, shortens the waiting time on the day of the drive. Donors are reminded to have had enough to eat and drink before arrival. Snacks and drinks will be on offer following donation.
