Students Give WHU High Marks

WHU students rate the school and their career prospects as exceptional in 2024 edition of the Universum CareerTest

The results of this year’s edition of the Universum CareerTest 2024 show that students from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management have rated both their school and their career prospects as being excellent. In fact, 72% of the students surveyed reaffirmed their decision to study at WHU, a figure markedly higher than the survey’s average of 62%. “These excellent evaluations show that we are meeting the expectations that our students have for their study programs and academic environment,” said Professor Christian Andres, Dean of WHU. “It makes me happy to know that our students are so pleased with what WHU has to offer.”

A closer look at these results reveals that WHU students strongly associate the school with the following attributes: “successful alumni,” “good reference for future career,” and “programs and opportunities to study abroad.” And they consider those latter two attributes, along with “excellent professors/lecturers,” “educational excellence,” and “friendly and open environment” to be the most important. The students surveyed this year also associate WHU with a “safe campus environment” to a greater extent than was the case last year.

Overall student satisfaction with the school’s study programs stands at 8.4, revealing a slight increase over our average last year (8.2). This is largely due to the fact that female students this year are more satisfied with the school (8.0) than those surveyed the year prior (7.5). Of those who participated, 72% reaffirmed their decision to study at WHU. This figure is markedly higher than the survey’s average of only 62%. Additionally, they rated the efforts of our Career Center positively, awarding their services 7.9 out of 10 points.

Students have indicated that their career prospects are excellent having received an education from WHU. Our graduates can expect an average annual salary of €65,902; the expected average salary of students from other schools, by comparison, is noticeably lower, sitting at €50,541.

Universum is an employer branding firm that issues its CareerTest, an online survey for bachelor- and master’s-level students, on a regular basis. Students are asked to give feedback regarding four key areas: “employer reputation and image,” “people and culture,” “renumeration and advancement opportunities,” and “job characteristics.” For this year’s edition, Universum analyzed the responses of over 9,500 students submitted between September 2023 and April 2024.
