The IMC welcomes a new member to the Faculty
WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management is pleased to welcome Dr. Saskia Opitz, Assistant Professor in Management Accounting and Control, since May 1, 2025.
Before joining WHU, Saskia Opitz completed her PhD at the University of Cologne and worked as a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn. During her PhD studies, she also spent one term at the University of Oxford.
During her time at the University of Cologne, she gained teaching experience in small-group courses conducted in cooperation with companies, as well as in Master's modules on data analysis methods and management topics. Additionally, she taught Bachelor-level management accounting as an external lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
With her research, Saskia Opitz seeks to provide insights into the design of performance evaluation and incentive systems in companies, as well as how different actors behave in relation to these systems. She is passionate about collaborating with companies, for instance, in the context of field experiments, archival studies, or surveys.
WHU wishes her all the best and a smooth start at our business school.
