QS: WHU Offers Some of World’s Best Graduate Programs

WHU’s MBA, Master in Finance, and Master in Management earn excellent scores in QS World University Rankings

London-based analyst firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) provides potential students a detailed look into the performance of some of the world’s most esteemed graduate programs. Its annual QS World University Rankings partially focus on MBA and master’s-level programs for finance and management, scoring each based on five key indicators.  The Full-Time MBA, Master in Finance, and Master in Management offered by WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management have once again scored highly—despite steadily increasing competition across the board over the past few years and following an impressive showing earlier this year in the Financial Times rankings.

WHU’s Full-Time MBA, housed at the school’s campus in Düsseldorf, has managed to move up in the QS World University Rankings from its position last year at #58 to #55 globally. It has also defended its #1 position in the “return on investment” sub-category, providing further proof that the school’s graduates benefit greatly from their time at WHU. Notably, over the past two years, the number of MBA programs evaluated as part of these rankings has grown considerably, from 296 to 340 in total.

Both the school’s Master in Finance and Master in Management programs have once again placed within the Top 30 worldwide of their respective divisions: Out of the 222 programs considered, WHU’s Master in Finance has placed #28 overall with a score of 75.4 out of a possible 100 points. A closer look at the results shows that the program has performed well above the global average in several of the ranking’s key indicators, including “alumni outcomes” (#16), “value for money” (#26), and “employability” (#36). By comparison, the school’s Master in Management, one of 206 programs evaluated, earned 78.3 points and has ranked #24 overall. The program’s particular strengths also include “alumni outcomes” (#10) and “value for money” (#14), as well as “thought leadership” (#29).

“We’re excited to see our programs continuing to perform well in a global context,” said Professor Christian Andres, Dean of WHU. “At the same time, we cannot afford to underestimate the competition, which increases every year. These results help us see our strengths and where we need to keep our finger on the pulse for the future.”

WHU’s practice-oriented graduate programs are designed for experienced and responsible students who wish to hone their skills and contribute to today’s shifting corporate landscape. And, as the rankings show, those who invest in their future at WHU avail themselves of new opportunities for their careers.
