New In Praxi HUB Opens on WHU’s Vallendar Campus

The new office at Burgplatz 1 creates opportunities for collaboration between the alumni organization In Praxi and the Entrepreneurship Center

At almost forty years old, In Praxi – WHU Alumni Association at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management knows a thing or two about close teamwork and maintaining contact. And now is the time to convert the organization’s existing quarters into a more contemporary open office.

At the new facilities at Burgplatz 1 in Vallendar, WHU alumni, staff, and students will be able to discuss new ideas and future collaborations. The bright office space will be a place for innovation, where the school’s network can continue to grow, and where all members of the school’s community can work.

The In Praxi hub will be used jointly by the association’s employees and the WHU Entrepreneurship Center team, the latter led by Maximilian Eckel and Niklas Geiss. Both are alumni of WHU themselves and are the first point of contact for numerous entrepreneurs from the school’s community. In Praxi, which bought and converted the new office space, partially finances the center.

“By merging the space, we are taking the collaboration between In Praxi and the Entrepreneurship Center to the next level,” said Dr. Marco Vietor, In Praxi Chairman and WHU alumnus at the office’s opening ceremony. Although the Entrepreneurship Center and In Praxi had already been using the space before the renovation work, they were working in separate rooms.

In Praxi office supports solidarity

In his speech, Professor Christian Andres, Dean of WHU, emphasized the high number of successful entrepreneurs among WHU alumni, who have created more than 60,000 jobs in Germany alone over the past 20 years. Professor Dries Faems and Professor Christoph Hienerth, who serve as Academic Directors of the WHU Entrepreneurship Center, also welcomed the opening of the hub and emphasized the opportunities it will bring. Municipal mayor Adolf T. Schneider, who has enjoyed a solid and close working relationship with WHU for many years, was also there in person. Schneider, who was an active entrepreneur himself for more than 30 years, has long been committed to making Vallendar an attractive location for start-ups.

In Praxi and WHU are closely intertwined. Since its inception, the association’s goals have always been to promote and maintain the alumni’s connection with their alma mater, offer financial support for special projects, and share in its vision. Now celebrating its 35th anniversary, In Praxi is home to the more than 90% of WHU students who joined following graduation—totaling over 7,000 members worldwide.

The new office now offers a modern and professional environment to better achieve their goals on WHU’s campus in Vallendar.
