Assistant Professor Dr. Roman Briker joins the WHU faculty
Dr. Roman Briker took up his position as Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management on February 1, 2026. With his appointment, the business school gains an internationally visible scholar who combines excellent fundamental research with strong practical relevance.
Prior to joining WHU, Assistant Professor Dr. Roman Briker was affiliated with Maastricht University, most recently as an Assistant Professor at its School of Business and Economics. He earned his doctoral degree summa cum laude from Justus Liebig University Giessen and completed his studies in psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He gained international research experience at, among other institutions, Texas Christian University and as a visiting scholar at the University of Cologne.
In his research, Assistant Professor Dr. Roman Briker focuses on key questions in Organizational Behavior, namely human behavior in organizations. His research interests include leadership and climate psychology, the consequences of time pressure in organizations, and human interaction with artificial intelligence. His work has been published in leading international academic journals and has received multiple awards, including the Edmond Hustinx Prize and the Open Science Award. He has also been successful in acquiring third-party funding from national and European research programs.
Assistant Professor Dr. Roman Briker brings extensive teaching experience to WHU. He has taught at several universities across bachelor’s, master’s, MBA, and executive education programs and has consistently received excellent evaluations. In addition to core leadership topics, he places particular emphasis on people analytics as well as organizational change and consulting. He has designed MBA courses on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in organizations and on human–AI collaboration. Supervising numerous theses and doctoral candidates further complements his profile as a dedicated assistant professor.
