Graduation Ceremony at the Electoral Palace in Koblenz

An extraordinary journey comes to an end for the participants of the Kellogg-WHU EMBA program

At a festive graduation ceremony at the Electoral Palace in Koblenz on Friday, the EMBA graduates received their degrees from the Kellogg School of Management and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management after honing numerous new skills, adopting unfamiliar perspectives, and developing a strong network for life in the two years beforehand – and all this in difficult times that were still strongly influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“You will have a profound influence on the world around you. Today, in these times of doubt, the unique blend of skills and abilities you possess are crucial for advancing—and stabilizing—our society,” said Professor Christian Andres, Dean of WHU, congratulating all participants of the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA program on their success. Andres emphasized the achievements of the executives in his laudatory speech, and that all of them had achieved a great deal, especially as they all had other commitments that demanded their attention in addition to the EMBA program. He thanked the lecturers and Professor Jürgen Weigand as Academic Director of the EMBA program at WHU, and Hanne Mai. She led the program as Program Director for many years and is retiring this year.

Jon B. Kaplan, Assistant Dean and responsible for the Executive MBA Global Network at the Kellogg School of Management, also traveled to Koblenz to express his appreciation to the EMBA graduates. He thanked the program participants for their commitment and wished them all the best for their professional future. The closing speech was given by WHU alumnus Tobias Rölz (EMBA 2019), Executive Vice President Market & Digital Services of the Komax Group, a German technology company specialized in automated wire processing.

The excellent future prospects of program participants and the satisfaction of alumni with the EMBA program at WHU are also shown by the latest Executive MBA ranking of the Financial Times: in the global competition, the program was ranked 29th, well above the average of all 100 universities surveyed. The Kellogg-WHU EMBA program is unique in Europe due to its global partner concept, which is implemented in different regions around the world in a variety of interactive modules together with leading business schools.
