WHU honors long-term employees at a ceremony in the Marienburg Chapel
Quite a few members of the professional and academic staff at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management have been on the roster for a very long time, some in the administration, others at the school’s chairs and centers. At a ceremony held this past Tuesday, Dean Christian Andres and Peter Christ, Head of Administration, honored 21 of the school’s long-standing employees, 18 of which attended in person, for their many years of dedication. “This ceremony has become a nice tradition,” said Peter Christ during his opening speech at the Marienburg Chapel in Vallendar.
He, alongside Dean Andres, waxed poetic about their colleagues, telling stories and reviewing their achievements. Some of the honorees had joined WHU, which is now celebrating its 40th anniversary, just a few years after its founding. They have seen how the school developed into Germany’s best business school—something only made possible through their hard work and commitment. Many of them have changed job titles, more than once or twice, over the course of their career at WHU, fully exploring their potential in that time. And they remain loyal to the school to this day. All those honored received a bouquet of flowers and either some “Vallentaler,” the town’s local currency, or a voucher.
