Financial assistance: your options
An EMBA is a sustainable investment in yourself. While the tuition fee requires commitment, there are many ways to make it accessible, including scholarships, income share agreements, student loans, employer support, tax benefits, and country-specific funding options. Our Admissions Team is here to advise you on the solution that best fits your individual situation.
Scholarships
Potential meets opportunity
Our scholarships are designed to open doors for exceptional leaders and to celebrate the unique strengths each candidate brings to our community.
We distinguish between two types of scholarships. Our Exclusive Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to one candidate per intake and recognizes an exceptional personal story and diverse leadership path.
In addition, the General Scholarship, Alumni Legacy Scholarship, and the 30 Years Kellogg-WHU Scholarship are awarded on a rolling basis. While highly competitive, these scholarships are not restricted to a fixed number of recipients, ensuring that outstanding candidates have the opportunity to be recognized as long as funds remain available.
Our partial scholarships are designed to make the Kellogg-WHU EMBA accessible to outstanding candidates while recognizing the diverse ways you can contribute to our community.
- Supporting your journey: Most of our scholarships cover up to 20% of the tuition fee and are intended as partial financial support to help bridge an individual funding gap. A single scholarship offering a higher award is reserved for an exceptional candidate facing greater financial constraints due to their individual circumstances.
- Focused opportunities: Each candidate may apply for one scholarship. Kindly select the option that best reflects your strengths and circumstances.
- Timing matters: To apply for the selected scholarship category, you do not need to wait for the outcome of the admissions process. In fact, we recommend submitting your scholarship application together with your program application for the strongest consideration. The final scholarship application deadline is when you sign your study contract.
- Careful consideration: All scholarship applications are reviewed thoroughly and with great care, taking into account the specific objectives and criteria of each scholarship category, as well as the available scholarship budget. Scholarship decisions are final and cannot be contested.
- Aligned with your admissions journey: Scholarship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and coordinated with your individual admissions process, so you receive both decisions in time to plan your next steps.
We welcome all qualified candidates to apply for one scholarship. To be considered, you should:
- Have submitted a complete application to the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA Program.
- Plan to self-fund your studies, or receive employer sponsorship covering no more than 30% of the tuition fee.
When reviewing applications, we look carefully at:
- Your academic and professional achievements.
- Your performance in the admissions interview.
- The strength and persuasiveness of your scholarship video, and it's fit with the scholarship requirements.
- Your ability to finance the program, outlined in a financial budget statement.
To apply for a scholarship, please prepare the following materials. You can submit your scholarship application at the same time as your application to the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA Program. Please note that the scholarship application is submitted separately using the dedicated scholarship application form.
1. Scholarship video
Upload a short video pitch (1–2 minutes) explaining why you are applying for the chosen scholarship. Please check the description of your chosen scholarship for the specific points your video should address.
We encourage you to be creative and authentic. There are no limits to how you choose to present your story. Especially in a time when AI-generated content is increasingly present, authenticity matters more than ever. This video is your opportunity to show your real voice, your personality, and your unique journey.
2. Financial Budget Statement
Along with your video pitch, please submit a financial budget statement (approx. 1 page) outlining your EMBA financing plan, including:
- Your current financial situation (salary, other taxable income, relevant expenses)
- The amount of personal investment you plan to contribute
- Any financial support from your company or other third parties
- Any other relevant funding sources
- A clear explanation of your remaining funding gap and how the scholarship would enable your participation in the EMBA program
The purpose of the financial budget statement is to give us a clear and transparent picture of your overall financing plan and financial needs.
3. Submit your Scholarship Application
Please upload both your video pitch and financial budget statement using our scholarship application form.
You may submit your scholarship application at any time during the EMBA application process and do not need to wait for an admissions decision.
Application Deadline: Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis. We recommend applying together with your program application, but no later than before signing your study contract.
